Food security bylaw in offing KITGUM-The local government will soon enact bylaws requiring all households to grow at least one acre of cassava, the resident district commissioner has said. Omony Ogaba explained that the move was meant to prevent food shortages. Speaking to The New Vision recently, Omony Ogaba said the district was facing an acute food shortage. He appealed to the Government and the World Food Programme to resume relief food distribution to the area to save the people from starving to death.
Farmers get NAADS goats APAC-Farmers in Chawente subcounty have received exotic goats from the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS).Addressing the beneficiaries last week, the district coordinator, Johnson Ojok, said the Boer he-goats were meant to breed with local ones to produce better offspring. Ojok urged the sub-county coordinators to declare all NAADS resources to the public. He reminded the beneficiaries that they were required to pay 70% of items received when they start reaping the benefits.
