MPs from Teso have resumed their Parliament business weeks after they suspended duties, protesting over “the Government failure” to salvage the ravaging famine. The famine is reported to have killed several people and left hundreds on the verge of death.

Teso Parliamentary Group chairperson Patrick Amuriat on Tuesday said the MPs had resumed business in their respective committees and would attend the plenary when it resumes.

“We are optimistic that the visit with the agriculture committee of Parliament will help to portray the true picture of the situation in Teso to the rest of the world,” he said.

He added that the findings of the committee could manifest into increased support and relief supplies to the area.
