Only recently, Vision Voice FM presenter Gaetano Kaggwa once again made front page news, but for his wedding this time. Gaetano wedded his fiancée Edith Rukikaire at St. Francis Chapel, Makerere University, where about 50 people attended.
The bride did not wear a gown at the church, but the couple later exchanged another set of vows at Ranch on the Lake where she put on a gown and veil and the groom wore a white linen suit. The reception was bigger with about 300 guests.
There was outrage from a local tabloid that the couple had such a simple ceremony, but what the Kaggwas’ showed was that even with the means, you can still have a simple, but meaningful affair.
In May, Marion and David Nkuggwa exchanged vows at Kampala Baptist Church and hosted their guests to a cocktail in the church gardens for two hours. Later that evening, they hosted 100 of their closest family and friends to a dinner at Hotel International, Muyenga but everyone paid for their dinner. The wedding cost sh6m.
