A TOTAL of 11 Ugandans have graduated with degrees in various disciplines from the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Malaysia.

According to a press release by Hajah Noraihan Haji Mohamad Adnan, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Uganda in Malaysia, four of the 11 received special awards from the Malaysian Industrial leaders in recognition of their excellence during the course of their study.

“These students have demonstrated distinctive effort in their respective programmes, exuding high levels of creativity and discipline in the implementation of their ideas,” writes Adnan.

The degrees were conferred upon them at the university’s 14th graduation ceremony, held recently in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpaur.

The special awards include two from Bonia Corporations in the categories of Best in professional communications and Best in Strategic Marketing, for Nakku Sarah Walusimbi (B.A in Professional Communication) and Caroline Naula (bachelor of business administration) respectively. Biwaga Jean Margaret Wanyenze was awarded Best in Business Management by TESCO, while the Best in Credit Financing award from Affin Islamic Bank Berhad went to Christine Tumwebaze.

According to the Honorary Consul, there are about 500 Ugandan students studying in Malaysia.

For those interested in studying in Malaysia, there are a number of organisations that recruit Ugandan students on behalf of Malaysian universities.

One of them is the Worldwide Education Group on the fourth floor of the General Post Office building on Kampala Road.
