What is this? Men! Men wearing thongs and exposing their backsides? And it is not a mistake; it is a deliberate attempt to ensure that we all see their buttocks and their thongs.
They have big jeans as well as boxer shorts, which would adequately conceal the ridiculous thongs and the ashy bums, but they seem to have deliberately pushed these down. Should men expose their backsides this way when they wear thongs?
Absolutely not. There is no way in any of the infinite dimensions of human existence, comprising both the real and all the fictional ones, that this sort of behaviour can be met with anything but scorn, anger and shock. In some places, they might have sympathy for the misguided characters who have been confused into thinking that such acts are acceptable, but those are in America and, therefore, not count. In most other places, the response may actually be mob justice.
I do not condone mob justice, of course, and nobody in this newspaper does. That is why I call upon these men to waste no time in pulling their bloody trousers up. I will never deem violence as acceptable, but I will certainly understand if people, on seeing this unholy spectacle, marshaled up all the curses and unleashed torrents of verbal abuse upon these men.
The ethics and integrity minister once observed in the international media that some of our people have “weak mindsâ€. Because he is largely concerned with the homosexual spectre, he might wonder if these men are not inciting the citizenry, some of whom, having weak minds, may be tempted to try to cast aside political correctness and declare out loud that this kind of dressing is, and they will not be lying, “Totally gay!â€

Men’s choices of undergarments were hitherto limited to boxers and briefs.
But there is now a new variety called the Y-back briefs that is becoming increasingly popular among the teens. It features a thin strip of cloth that runs between the buttocks, culminating in a nice supportive fit at the front. Y-thongs are also more relaxed around the waist.
They come in not only a variety of silhouettes, colors and patterns, but the fabrics are also novel like lycra, spandex and synthetic microfibres, which were before only used in women’s underwear. Because they are comfortable and stylish, thongs are becoming very popular among men who wear them inside as daily wear or at the gym or while jogging in the evenings.
There was a stereotype that whichever man wore fancy or sexy underwear was either gay or effeminate.
Thongs are the original type of men’s underwear; the first ever that stone age guys wore when they found it was no longer fashionable to walk around naked.
Todate, some people argue that thongs are still the more comfortable and practical underwear for men. Trendy too, little wonder they are the favourites of David Beckham.
When buying a thong, one should feel that strip of cloth that is supposed to go between the buttocks. It should feel smooth and soft to the touch and then you can be sure that it will feel comfortable on you when you wear it. It is advisable to avoid cheap brands of thongs as they are made of coarsecotton which can have an uncomfortable and abrasive effect. Also, beware that getting used to thongs is a matter of time. Buy one thong among four or five boxers or briefs. Wear the thong on that special occassion or once in a while until you are comfortable with them everyday. And as many men would feel uncomfortable with the attention their thong gathers from watchers-by, avoid wearing it to a place where you have to change, like the beach, the swimming pool or the gym.
