THE Uganda team to the World Athletics Championships departs today for acclimatisation ahead of the competitions that start on Saturday in Berlin, Germany.
National federation secretary Beatrice Ayikoru confirmed yesterday that eight athletes, comprising mainly track athletes leave ahead of the marathoners who fly out next week.
“They have been camped in Bukwo and will arrive in Kampala tomorrow (today) morning and later leave for Germany,†said Ayikoru.
The team that leaves today has Abraham Chepkirwok, Simon Ayeko, Benjamin Kiplagat, Moses Kibet, Moses Kipsiro, Geoffrey Kusuro, Martin Toroitich and Boniface Kiprop.
