SPORTS Club Villa coach Sula Kato hopes to complete choosing his first-choice squad for the Uganda Super League after today’s friendly match against Tanzania Premier League side Kagera FC at Nakivubo stadium.

The Super League tentatively kicks off on September 19 and Kato has already added youthful defender Denis Guma and midfielder Hood Mayanja to re-energise his side which lost midfielder Steven Bengo to Tanzanian giants Yanga FC.

But he contends that he need today’s encounter to decide who starts ahead of the other between Nigerian Johnson Aigbe and homeboy Gibson Atuhairwe after the departure of Emma Okwi. Okwi left Villa for Simba SC of Tanzania.

“Both of them did very well in Tanzania. I need another match situation to make a decision.

It will depend on their decision-making and response during a match,” Kato explained.

Villa has just returned from Tanzania where they played two matches, losing to Simba 1-0 before beating African Lyon 2-1.

The Bukoba-based Kagera, coached by Ugandan tactician George Ssimwogerere, were slated to arrive yesterday but rescheduled their trip for this morning to allow the match with Express before their departure.

They will play Villa and KCC today and tomorrow respectively.

Express heads further to Mwanza where they will play Premier League sides TOTAL and Munyema FC.

Ugandan Super League champions URA FC are also on a tour of Tanzania where they are expected to play matches against Yanga and Simba today and tomorrow.
