(Uganda wins by 45 runs)

ROGER Mukasa will be glad Uganda refused to cut short their ten-day tour to Bermuda and accepted to play a farewell One Day International friendly.

The opening batsman would have left the little island without showing how much damage he can do with the bat.

Mukasa had managed a paltry four runs in the two innings during the four-day Intercontinental Shield match, which Uganda won by seven wickets. But he put that behind him to score 117 and lead Uganda to victory by 45 runs in an ODI at the National Sports Centre.

It was at the same ground that Mukasa recorded the disappointing figures of 04 and 00 as Uganda claimed the dicey Shield contest last week.

After faltering twice, he was not going to let Bermuda off the hook again and he did it with typical haste.

He reached his ton off 105 balls before getting caught by Terryn Fray off Jordan Desilva.

Mukasa’s dismissal left Uganda at 186-6 but Benjamin Musoke chipped in with 19 runs before Ebrahim Mohammed’s men reached 206 in 42.5 overs.
