A number of Buganda royals have gone to court to block the Buganda Land Board from selling a prime piece of land at Namasuba, Entebbe Road.

The land was previously under the Ministry of Works as a public works department station and recently returned to Buganda Kingdom.

It is located, on Kampala – Entebbe highway, 4.5km from Kampala City and 30km to Entebbe Airport, and is suitable for both commercial and residential development.

The caveat published in the New Vision stated that whoever bought or intends to buy any piece of land from the afore mentioned estate at Namasuba, Plot 4010, Kyadondo, Entebbe Road without express consent of the administrators, does so at their own risk.

It follows an advert on August 20 by BLB calling for buyers of the land for development. According to the advert, the expressions of interest were valid for 90 days during which the selected companies would negotiate.

The companies were required to pay a US$50,000 commitment fee which would be refunded to the unsuccessful with a two per cent minus as processing and handling charge.

The estate of the Late Ssekabaka Daudi Chwa II is now being administered by Edith Nabweteme, Catherine Namukaabya, Elizabeth Nakabiri, Boredicia Nkinzi, Julian Mugale, John Lukanga, Onefulo Jocko, Egbat Kamanya, E. Zalwango, K. Namalwa and Aireni Ndagire.
