RENAH Nalumansi has been recording many singles since she quit the all-girl group Dream Galz, at the beginning of this year. Most notable of her post-Dream Galz efforts is Empisa Zzo, which features vocals by Henry Tigan.

She is now getting ready for the next chapter in her music career. On the singer’s debut 12-song solo album, Renah is backed by Grayce Records’ Henry Kiwuwa, Dream Studios’ Paddy Kayiwa, Harvey Studios’ Didi as well as Benon, Swangz Avenue’s newest music producing wizard.

The lead track, Omukwano Gwo (Your Love) is a favourite on local radio stations.

The song, which borrows heavily from South African rhythms, is a feel-good tune about a woman who has fallen head over heels in love.

Renah continues to celebrate love on Namufunye (I’ve Found Him), which boasts of an oddly jaunty beat.

In Empisa Zzo, she maintains that her aim is to create crowd-pleasing pop songs that connect with as many people as possible. The song, whose lyrics deal with relationship problems is one such song.

With Dizzy Nuts in the song, Good Loving, a cocktail of dance hall and R&B, Renah delivers her sexiest vocals. Dizzy Nuts’ guttural voice influences the song for the better.

It is a similar story on the dance floor-oriented I Love You, on which Tiki Tah lends his vocals.

Tunyirira, that was written by Mr. Saxes and produced by Paddy Kayiwa has some banal lyrics about today’s nice-looking women.

Although it is already out, few people would willingly want to listen to it.

Tunyirira notwithstanding, Renah’s album is a commendable effort that could propel her to the top of the charts.

This artiste has a lot to offer when the album hits music stores in the next few weeks. And that is a hot tip for you.
