We wish to commend the LC3 boss of Buwenge town council, Steven Ngobi Mwesigye for calling upon all the owners of clubs, bars, video halls and lodges to steer clear of under-age patrons in this premiership and holiday season.

We wish to commend the LC3 boss of Buwenge town council, Steven Ngobi Mwesigye for calling upon all the owners of clubs, bars, video halls and lodges to steer clear of under-age patrons in this premiership and holiday season.

Many night clubs, lodges, video hall and bar owners in Uganda are notoriously fond of admitting minors in these places, especially during the premiership league season.

This contributes to the youngsters’ misbehaviour. They disobey their parents at home and many of them can learn bad habits like smoking, drinking and engaging in risky sexual relationships.

What Mwesigye is doing is very good for the parents, bar owners, children, headteachers and above all, the security of Buwenge.

This is because many parents in Uganda have lost their children to witchdoctors!

We appeal to the headteachers and parents of Buwenge to support and also cooperate with Mwesigye to ensure these acts are wiped out in Buwenge.

They should always be alert and make sure minors are never allowed to enter these halls and lodges.

Mwesigye has shown mature leadership and needs the support of all the stakeholders.
