FIXTURES of the ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifier are being revised following the withdraw from the tournament of Afghanistan and the continued uncertainty surrounding the participation of Sierra Leone.

Afghanistan failed to travel to Canada, venue of the 13-day tournament which started yesterday after failing to secure visas.

At the same time, there is still doubt as to whether Sierra Leone will be able to resolve their own visa problems to travel for the event.

Consequently, the ICC decided to revise the fixtures, starting with yesterday’s opening round games.

Uganda was originally meant to open against Papua New Guinea but the revised fixture list pitted Sam Walusimbi’s boys against hosts Canada. The rest of the fixtures will be released later.

Uganda’s encounter with Canada was going on by press time.

Bond, 34, is regarded as the best New Zealand fast bowler since the era of Richard Hadlee.
