SEVEN Ugandans have been arrested in Lesotho for posing as traditional healers and conning locals of over $26,000 (sh53m).
Five men and two women have been charged with fraud and illegal entry, the Sotho police spokesman, Pheello Mphana, said.
The identity of the suspects and prison where they are being held was not revealed. The Ugandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Patrick Guma Muganda, yesterday said they had not received any information on the arrests.
The incident comes a month after two Ugandans were last month charged and granted bail by a South African court over conning a man of R66,000 in a get-rich-quick scheme.
