FRANCE’S Philippe Debonnevie advanced to the semi-finals of the Kampala F1 Futures tennis tournament after a 6-3 6-3 win over Italy’s Vittorio Rubino at Lugogo yesterday.

FRANCE’S Philippe Debonnevie advanced to the semi-finals of the Kampala F1 Futures tennis tournament after a 6-3 6-3 win over Italy’s Vittorio Rubino at Lugogo yesterday.
The top seed easily brushed aside his Italian opponent.
Debonnevie will face seed three Rupesh Roy from India in the semi-finals today while the final is due tomorrow.
Roy stormed the last four with a 6-1 6-3 victory over the number seven player James Feaver from Britain.
The form book remained the same without any major upset as Romania’s Bogdan Leonte who is the second seed secured a 7-6(4)6-3 victory over Zimbabwe’s Takanyi Garanganga.
Uganda’s top player Duncan Mugabe was ejected by Malta’s Matthew Asciak.
