OFFICIALS of the domestic athletics governing body UAF have lost track of Isaac Kiprop a key athlete on the team due for the world half marathon on October 11.

The East Africa half marathon champion is on the team that comprises Martin Toroitich, Moses Aliwa and Jackson Kiprop picked for the world event due in Birmingham. UAF says it has lost contact with the Uganda People’s Defence Forces athlete.

“We are supposed to submit visa applications to the British High Commision but we can’t trace Kiprop,” coach Ronnie Kasirye remarked.

“His phone has been switched off.” “If he remains missing in the next few days, then the technical committee will have to chart a way forward.”

Kasirye added that woman team member Adero Nyakisi, who has been competing in Europe, will travel directly to Birmingham for the race.
