UGANDA’S only International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Maj. Gen Francis Nyangweso will lead the country’s delegation to Copenhagen, Denmark where the host city for the 2016 Olympics will be decided.
Four cities Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo are bidding for the games.
Former Uganda Olympic Committee chief Nyangweso will lead a delegation that includes the current president Roger Ddungu and the general secretary Peninah Kabenge.
Nyangweso left for Copenhagen on Tuesday for the IOC members-only meeting that will hear final submissions by the bidding cities among other issues.
The meeting will also reconsider the application of rugby and golf for admission to the 2016 games.
