Dr Tom Mutyabule, President of the Uganda Dental Association, has won an award from the International Association of Dental and Maxillo-facial Radiology (IADMFR).
The IADMFR Research Award 2001 was presented to Mutyabule during the association’s 13th international congress held in Glasgow, UK, between August 5 and 9. It included a cash prize and a certificate.
Mutyabule presented to the conference his research in dental radiography and radiation protection in Uganda. A total of seven entries from across the world were selected for the prize competition, of which Mutyabule’s won the first prize.

On his return Mutyabule told The New Vision that he was humbled by the award and thanked all people who made it possible for him to win it. He becomes the first Ugandan to win the award given biennially by IADMFR.
