Veteran coach Leo Adraa has inspired Gulu United to a 3-1 Uhuru Cup victory over Gulu University. Monday Oscar struck first for the victors four minutes into the game at Pece War Memorial Stadium. Emmanuel Okello-Oloyotoo made it 2-0, before Nelson Kidega reduced the deficit. Gulu United remained in charge with Martin Oola getting the third.

- Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation has joined the IT age with the launch of the federation website on Saturday. The site, www.uabf.org is being seen as one of the ways of re-branding the federation, UABF president Godfrey Nyakana told the extra ordinary general assembly at Centenary Park on Saturday. Nyakana called on the former UABF officials to peacefully hand over instruments of power.

Northern Star Football Club of Lamogi has lifted this year’s Amuru Independence Cup after beating Life Skill Football Club 7-2 in the final at Keyo play ground. Amuru Resident District Commissioner presented the trophy to the Northern Star team captain Solomon Oloya during the district’s Independence Day celebrations.
