FORMER Africa light middleweight champion Badru “Mr Crush” Lusambya will vie for the vacant WBO A light middleweight title against Tanzania’s Mada “King Jr” Maugo this Sunday at Little Flowers in Kampala. It will be Lusambya’s first fight since 2007, writes Phillip Corry.

“I have waited for this moment to arrive and I am in good shape going into the fight. I am looking forward to giving my fans a good show,” Lusambya said.

Lusambya is back after a three fight winning streak, having beaten Chas Symonds, Andrew Samba and Ken Oyolo. He is 20-1-1 (18 KOs). His Tanzanian opponent is 9-3-0 (7 KOs).

The fight is dubbed “Game On” and is promoted by Lusambya’s manager and agent Danny Lutaaya. It will include three support fights with one of them featuring lightweight Solomon Bogere taking on Geoffrey Munika in an eight-round non-title contest.
