OPPOSITION leader in Parliament Ogenga Latigo will meet the family of Innocent Alwori, the 21-year-old woman who died in the caar accident in which he was injured.
Latigo will meet the family when he recovers, to discuss matters concerning his relationship with Alwori.
During Alwori’s burial on Thursday at her home in Lira, Gulu resident district commissioner Lt. Walter Ochora, in a letter read by his deputy Milton Odongo, said: “Once Prof. Ogenga Latigo is discharged from the Hospital, traditionally, he will come and meet the family of the. He will pay his condolences, and sort out any matters that may arise.â€
Alwori and the driver Sam Tabu, died on the spot.
Alwori’s family yesterday said they had halted the burial, awaiting an explanation from Latigo, as to why he was traveling with their daughter at 3:00am.
Alwori was set to join Uganda Christian University for a bachelors’ degree.
Hundreds of mourners and friends the deceased Alwori on Thursday thronged her parents home, to pay their last respects to her.
Alwori’s Uncle Sam Okwir assured the mourners that police was investigating the circumstances which led to the accident.
Lira RDC Joan Pacoto said Alwori was a “kind and jolly girl.â€
