Disaster preparedness minister Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere knows a disaster when he sees one and he certainly knows better what to do – seek safety. And he responded quickly last weekend during the opening of Swing Inn discotheque in Ishaka, Bushenyi district.

The Club was on fire as Sweet Kid stoked the flames with his performances. Kabwegyere and other guests melted in the moment as they took to the floor with old school paaka chini moves. Weeza ngu nkuzire? (“Is it true that I am old now?”) Kabwegyere, almost boisterously, challenged one of his dance partners.

At the height of Sweet Kid’s song Silinayo mulala, the DJ engaged a smoke gun that sent a sudden burst of smoke into the hall. A visibly frantic Kabwegyere asked colleagues what was going on. But before he was told, he had bolted out of the club. Snoops learnt later that Kabwegyere thought a fire had broken out.
