BUKEDDE TV’s launch on Friday evening extended to 13 bars in Kampala, where new fans of channel 13 went into high gear celebrating its inception.

In Makindye, the mood in the popular bars, Makindye House and Isabella, was heightened by give-aways including t-shirts, TV antennas and beers from co-sponsors of the launch, Club Beer, a product of Nile Breweries.

The TV launch is part of the Vision Group’s ventures into becoming a leading multimedia company.
The TV is the latest addition in the electronic media following the recent opening of five radio stations.

Singers Karim Ssaava and Eagles Production’s Irene Namatovu entertained revellers at both bars. Revellers accompanied by Bukedde FM presenter Oulanya Columbus, took to the floor and danced the night away.

Bukedde TV’s crew recorded proceedings at the bars including sound bites and visual clips from excited revellers with some sending greetings to loved ones.

“We are fans of Bukedde FM and we shall support the TV as well,” shouted an excited unidentified reveller at Isabella.

The launch event’s promoter, Herman Kalanzi, gave away crates of beer to people who correctly answered questions related to either the TV or Bukedde FM.

Lord Fred Ssebatta and Karim Saava performed for fans at Club Isabella, Club Panorama, Makindye House and DV8 in Luzira.

In Entebbe, Bukedde partnered with the Obsessions to perform at Vogue Disco, Club x5 and Fly Zone in Kajansi.
At all the bars, TVs were tuned into Bukedde TV, which played local music videos.

Nile Breweries’ Shem Ssemambo said the company would continue supporting Bukedde in its endeavours.
