SOCCER - Bukedde will have to celebrate Christmas twice after the Senga Boys reclaimed the Vision Group inter-departmental soccer competition on Saturday. They edged hitherto defending champions Production 4-3 in a tightly contested final at City High School grounds to win a trophy and a bull. They will celebrate their victory at a venue of their choice mid December.

VOLLEYBALL - Nkumba University underlined their quest for their first national volleyball league title with a 3-2 victory over Sport-S in the first game of the best-of-three playoff series on Saturday. Jensen Chestit and Joseph Amukun were in sparkling form as Nkumba edged the three-time champions at Kansanga, a Kampala suburb.

Mbarara set for urban bonanza

GAMES - The South Western regional netball and football inter-urban councils’ sports champions Mbarara Municipality contingent left yesterday for Masaka to take part in the Urban Authorities Associations of Uganda (UAAU) games that kick off today and end Thursday.
Mbarara education officer Silver Magara said Mbarara mayor Wilson Tumwine and town clerk David Naluwayiro were to lead the contingent.
