THE Broadcasting Council has lifted the ban on Radio Two, commonly known as, Akaboozi. The clearance was announced yesterday by the Uganda Media Center.

The radio station was among three that were accused of flouting broadcasting regulations during the riots that rocked Kampala in September.

Chaos erupted when Buganda Kingdom premier Eng. John Baptist Walusimbi was stopped from going to Kayunga to prepare for the Kabaka’s visit.

Other stations suspended were the Buganda-owned CBS, Radio Sapientia and Ssuubi. Sapientia was reopened a few days later. CBS and Ssuubi remain off air.
