WITH three days before the start of the Orange Senior Challenge Cup, regional soccer body CECAFA came under attack from Kenya Football Federation over involving rival Football Kenya Limited in the organisation
of the event.
KFF chairman Sam Nyamweya villified CECAFA secretary general Nicholas Musonye for siding with FKL, “which has no mandate to run football in Kenya, to organise the Senior Challenge Cup at the expense of KFF.â€
In CECAFA defence, FKL senior vice chairman, Titus Kasuve said Musonye was acting within the rules set by CAF and FIFA of which CECAFA was duly affiliated.
Kasuve also said arrangements to receive Group “C†teams including Uganda Cranes, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Burundi in Mumias had been finalised.
Meanwhile, Uganda Cranes last group fixture against Zanzibar in Mumias will now be played on December 5.
Zanzibar will arrive today while the Cranes travel by road on Friday.
