Indulge yourself, it’s Xmas

REMEMBER the old adage about the miser, a hardworking man, who makes a lot of money but lives like a peasant only to die wealthy?

REMEMBER the old adage about the miser, a hardworking man, who makes a lot of money but lives like a peasant only to die wealthy?

You are all but entangled in making money most of the year, so it is only fair to spend a bit of it once in a while. And the best time to do this is the Christmas season.

Fussing about Christmas? Go right ahead, indulge yourself; if it is the whole grilled turkey you have been fantasising about, it’s time to finally get your hands greasy.

How we deny ourselves certain necessary pleasures in the name of saving for a rainy day, which (thank God) sometimes never comes.

I know many employees, who skip lunch so they can save a buck just in case. Since you have spoken saving and practiced it; what better time to spend a slice of it than this season?

And the children –– poor things living on beans and ugali in boarding schools for three terms running. When Christmas comes, daddy cannot, even for once, humour them –– a whole fried fish, pork, pizza or ice-cream.

Whereas I do not believe in emptying our accounts, I think it is only fair to commemorate the birth of our saviour befittingly.

Remember, when He was born, everything came to a standstill; the shepherds for once forgot their flock gaping at the bright shinning star.

The wise men that had saved gold and all costly ornaments there were, had to offer part of them to Him.

Folks, a lot happened that night and if you believe the story; do not hold back. Fuss if you can because the ultimate time of the year is now.
