EDITOR—I thank the Kampala metropolitan regional Police commander, Andrew Sorowen for his zeal in his duties. However, I do not agree with him on his directive to the traffic Police officers not to talk on phone while on duty.

Traffic cops need to receive distress calls from people reporting accidents, bad driving, and robbery incidents down the highway, so stopping them from receiving calls will be a disservice to the public. This directive needs to be given second consideration.
