Otunnu deserved to be snubbed
EDITOR—I am so sorry for Dr Olara Otunnu that President Museveni did not shake hands with him. However, I have no doubt that he shook Otunnu’s heart.

I have reasons to believe that Otunnu was in that place for a very wrong reason. Why on earth should a man like him expect a handshake from a highly placed person like Museveni whom he deliberately did not show respect?
What would standing for just two minutes have cost Otunnu?
This would have actually opened up a door for at least a greeting and thus the reconciliation proccess. Museveni snubbed him because of his disrespect. I don’t see sense in in Otunnu running for the presidency in a country where he has not been for years, after leaving in the manner he did.
He sneaked out and now thinks that sneaking in will give him the first office in the land! l would be most suprised.
