THE festive season is over and its effects are beginning to be evident on the weighing scale. We all want to start the New Year with a bang, on a high note, looking our best at all those parties and inevitable get-togethers.

Well, while we shed the unwanted kilos, here are a few homemade looks that disguise what we want to hide and the make the most of what we have.

A new look for the new you in the New Year!

The outfit:
An up-scale outfit in a dramatic colour for a posh event that will create the right impression and draw attention to the right areas…seems like a dream, but in this outfit dreams merge into reality!

Tip:
Cowl necklines are flattering to all figures. They are multi-purpose in that they disguise a thick waist, a rounded tummy, a small bust and a big bust (when worn with the right bra)
The length of this outfit is a plus since it also draws attention away from the torso to the legs. (which generally stay unchanged after the festive season)

Fabric requirements:
Soft and fluid fabrics are ideal for this outfit for example chiffon, georgette, linen, silk and satin.
2-2 ½ metres of double width fabric is needed for the dress. (The taller and fuller the figure, the more the fabric required)
