In an earlier letter (which was not published), I had stated: “If according to reports, Prof. Mondo Kagonyera was outrightly the best candidate, has a deep insight into the problems of the university, and is a man of high integrity, why deny him the job?
We need to move away from considerations based on political expediencies at the expense of efficiency and high commitment. Give him the chance, considering his age as well. May wisdom prevailâ€.
