Remember what Prophet Nathan told King David!

EDITOR—Some stories are explosive in their revelation of hypocrisy, which is arguably the most damning sin. Remember Jesus saying: “Why do you try to take a spec from your friend’s eye while ignoring a whole log in your own?”

To the men who brought a woman caught in the act of adultery and wanted him stoned, he said: “Let the one among you that has never sinned cast the first stone.” Then in the Old Testament we have King David passing a harsh sentence on the rich man who had taken by force a poor man’s only lamb. Prophet Nathan turns to him and says: “You are the man!” There is another story. A rich man bought several square miles of land that had bibanja owners on it. Some of them had lived there from 40 to 60 years. Some were very old women, widows who were looking after many orphans. The rich man offered them the option of okwegula (purchase a a land title), but they were too poor to find the sh20m or more that he was asking for. He gave them an ultimatum to leave and when they did not, he hired kanyamas who slashed their crops.

He used a tractor to raze their houses to the ground killing a child in the process. He built a cattle ranch and planted a sugar plantation.

After some time there was a revolution in the country. The people invaded his ranch and slaughtered the animals. They burnt down the plantation and looted his houses. He reported the criminals, not to the government that had caused the revolution, but to God. And do you know God’s answer? You guess!
