Govt wishes Kadaga a quick recovery

THE Uganda government has sent a message to the deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga wishing her a quick recovery.

THE Uganda government has sent a message to the deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga wishing her a quick recovery.
Prime Minister Apolo Nsibambi, yesterday sent the message to Kadaga through Mrs. Joan Rwabyomere, Uganda’s High Commissioner to Britain.
Nsibambi wrote, “During our Cabinet meeting, Hon. Amama Mbabazi, the Minister for Security, who spoke to you, informed us that contrary to the news in the media, your condition is satisfactory.â€
The short letter was copied to President Museveni, his vice, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, Edward Ssekandi the Speaker of Parliament and deputy Premiers among others.
Kadaga was last Saturday admitted at Watford General Hospital in London with intense malaria and a diabetic attack.
She was on her way to Germany to attend a conference of women parliamentarians. Kadaga was, from Wednesday, transferred to the University Hospital in central London where she is responding excellently to the treatment given, according to Hellen Nanteza Kaweesa, the Parliament’s Public Relations Manager.
She stated, “I last talked to Hon. Kadaga on Thursday and she said she was far better and responding well to the treatment.â€
Kaweesa said that the Government would meet Kadaga’s medical expenses but declined to reveal the amount, arguing that she was still hospitalised and the final bill could only be ascertained when she is discharged.
