AMERICAN artistes on the brink of the downfall have found new love with Uganda. After Montel Jordan performed here last year, news coming in is that the American R ‘n’ B duo K-Ci and JoJo, the break-away group from the 90s popular R&B outfit Jodeci, is coming to Uganda.

According to sources close to promoter Hemdee Kiwanuka, singer Halima Namakula’s son who is based in the USA, K-Ci and JoJo are expected in the country over the Easter weekend.

Hemdee has confirmed with the duo, but details of the venue and entrance fee are still scanty. The brothers’ last commercial success was with the 1999 It’s Real album.

From then on, the group has struggled, what with K-Ci’s escalating drug troubles and his erratic behaviour. The group’s troubles notwithstanding, this is a must-attend concert for old-timers.

KCi & Jojo are locally-popular for such songs as Life, It’s Real, All My Life and a host of others.
