HIS fairly successful 2006 album Sikuterega spawned the hit song Buli Alinawo which rocked dance clubs and radio alike. Still, he never even earned a Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) Award nod.

But while Ugandans failed to acknowledge and award Afrigo Band’s Peter Bazanye aka Rudeboy Devoh’s musical contribution, the rest of the world did.

Buli Alinawo is one of very few African songs currently getting heavy rotation on British BBC radio. As if that was not enough recognition, during the recent Afrigo Band tour of the US, Devoh was presented with an honorary award for best entertainer on tour by the Black Pearls and Omugave Ndugwa, a US-based Ugandan theatre group.

The award was such a boost that Devoh, who shot to fame for his soccer-themed Man U (Muwanike Emikono), a club anthem of sorts, is currently recording yet another Manchester United praise song.
