Am I infertile?

YOU should consult a gynaecologist about this. Doctors usually begin investigations into infertility if a couple having regular, unprotected sex for more than a year has not managed to conceive.

Dear Doctor,
I am 25 years old. I have dated my boyfriend for two years. At first we were using condoms, but stopped after taking HIV tests. He has a child from an earlier relationship, but I have failed to get pregnant. I have regular periods and have never aborted. What can I do? Should I take tablets to speed up ovulation?

It is best for both of you to consult the specialist together. The fact that your boyfriend has a child from a previous relationship does not mean that he cannot be infertile.
Do not take tablets to speed up ovulation without a gynaecologist’s advice. They are useful for a particular kind of infertility, but not for all.
