CROWN Beverages have launched a fundraising drive for Beijing Olympics preparations with an offer of sh10m. The initial package was handed to Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) official Seppi Bamutire, Thursday.

The drive, launched by Crown Beverages’ head of operations Paddy Muramira at Sheraton Hotel, is expected to raise over sh100m.

In addition to the initial offer for any bottle of Crown beverage product sold, 5% will go towards the fund, according to Muramira.

Crown Beverages are producers of Pepsi Cola and Mirinda soft drinks.
The drive could be a big boost to Uganda’s preparations for the world’s biggest sporting bonanza held every four years.
