SIMEON Masaba announced his return to SC Villa with a masterful performance as the 16-time champions dispatched Iganga 2-0 at Namboole yesterday.

The Cranes right-back, who rejoined the Blues during the mid-season transfer, thumped home a second-half penalty for Villa’s first goal after striker Allan Oryek was brought down in Iganga’s forbidden area.

Stephen Bengo struck the second a minute later.

At Maroons stadium, Police held on to a third minute strike by Muzamil Nanik to complete a double victory over their fellow Armed Force side, whom they trounced 5-0 in the first round.

Top flight football returned to Jinja yesterday, with Simba forcing a goalless draw at Victors’ new home at Kakindu stadium.

At Inzikuru stadium, Innocent Arumadri cancelled Godfrey Kireewa’s second minute goal as Maji held Ediofe.

* Much has been said of KCC FC’s projected striking troubles following the ill-fated departure of the club’s lead forward Hamis Kitagenda to champions URA FC.

The most obvious player who will grab the opportunity to replace goal poacher Kitagenda is the enigma that is 20-year-old Brian Omony, who glides between the sublime and the ridiculous on a game-to-game basis.
