FORMER Super league side Kakira FC continued their bid to return to the top flight by leading the Jinja Division One table standings after round one.

Kakira have won 10 of their 11 games, and ended round one on Saturday with 31 points. Right behind them in second position is Bugembe FC with 28 points followed by Arsenal FC with 24 points.

Kakira have been spurred by Henry Kabasala, who has struck seven of his team’s 19 goals. Other leading scorers are Henry Okubasu of Simba Buwenge Utd, and Dennis Mande and Boban Kagwa of Bugembe, and Ivan Remnick of Wanyange with five goals each.
The Jinja football scene is back to life after Victors decided to make Kakindu their home ground.

Hundreds of fans jammed Kakindu last week to support their adopted football sons in their drawn first home game against Simba.

Hundreds of others drove to Kampala to support the team as they beat Bunamwaya 1-0 at nakivubo on Wednesday.
