SIMBA Buwenge United handed Kakira their first loss in 12 games as the Jinja First Division League kicked off in earnest on Saturday.

Goals by Henry Okubasu in the eighth minute and the second from Asuman Mbasera in the 17th minute sunk high-flying Kakira, whose only consolation was a late goal by the league’s leading marksman Henry Kabasala.

However, Kakira stayed top of the table on goal difference with 31 points.

Bugembe FC, that also has 31 points, continued piling the pressure on Kakira with a convincing 2-1 victory over Mpumude FC.

Bruno FC’s Dennis Mande and Ali Magada ensured they beat a stubborn Mpumudde, who hit back through Sunday Mukasa.

Wanyange’s Tonny Kiyaga single handedly destroyed Arsenal-Njeru FC with a double strike in the 63rd and 80th minutes after coming on as a substitute for Bruno Da Silva. Wanyange now lies eighth on the table.
