RDC tips on women’s fate

NAMUTUMBA-Community leaders must make it their responsibility to address problems affecting women in society including violation of their rights and freedoms. The Namutumba resident district commissioner, Grace Sendabaguzi, made the call during celebrations to mark the Women’s Day at Magada Primary School. She criticised residents for looking on as husbands batter their wives.


IUIU students clean up town

MBALE-Students of the Islamic University in Uganda cleaned up the town in the run-up to the Women’s Day fete. The exercise that began from the municipal council offices was flagged off by the deputy mayor, Jamila Naleba, who hailed the students for the intiative.
