THE Ministry of Works is to acquire new road maintenance equipment for all districts in the country to ease road repairs and cut down on maintenance costs.
Equipments including graders, wheel loader, a roller, tractors and Lorries, will be procured to serve over 53 districts. Speaking at a stake holders meeting in Masaka on Tuesday State Minster for Transport, Simon Ejua said the cost of maintaining old equipment is high compared to buying new machines.
The Minster, flanked by the commissioner for transport Patrick Sanya, was on an road assessment trip to Kalangala, Masaka and Rakai districts.
