THE national youth team, the Hippos, will travel to DRC next week for their Africa championship qualifier without any significant build-up game. FUFA was yesterday forced to put off the U-20 national team’s friendly match against Sudan indefinitely.

The Hippos were due to gauge themselves against Sudan at Nakivubo stadium tomorrow but FUFA was yesterday left in a dilemma when the Sudan rootball federation communicated that they would not be able to make it to Kampala due to flight connection problems.

The Hippos travel to play DRC in the first leg in Kinshasa, April 19.

FUFA publicist Rogers Mulindwa said that the federation would redirect finances aimed at facilitating the friendly to fund the Hippos’ residential training at Namboole.

The home based Cranes team also continues training for their Africa Nations Championship second leg qualifier against Eritrea. They play Eritrea at Nakivubo stadium on Friday.
