Uganda’s Gaetano Kaggwa and Kenya’s Sheila Mwanyigah have been chosen as the presenters for the Tusker Project Fame Academy as East Africa’s premier and biggest music reality show enters its most exciting lap.
Every weekend, from April 6 to the June 22 when the show ends, Gaetano and Sheila will host the Saturday eviction shows and Sunday nomination shows.
This Sunday, we get to witness the judges short-listing 30 contestants from East Africa (comprising 10 Kenyans, 10 Ugandans and 10 Tanzanians) to 18 contestants (six from each country).
This will then be followed by the massive launch show on April 13 when we get to know which 15 of the 18 contestants get into the academy. During this show, the 15 contestants will not only step into the academy for the first time but also meet each other for the first time.
At the academy, the 15 final contestants will get music, dance and vocal training and performance lessons. Of course, there will be the occasional drama that often comes when you put 15 talented, ambitious strangers in one house for weeks. Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will thus have five final representatives to the Tusker Project Fame Academy. The first heat show was screened on Sunday and the second will be screened on Sunday April 6.
