Dear Kenneth, the International Business programme provides a broad foundation in business as well as specialised studies in international management and marketing.Â

Training: Makerere University Business School offers a three-year Bachelor of International Business degree programme. Requirements: You need two principal passes (of grade B and above) and one subsidiary in either Arts or Sciences. Career Opportunities: The degree is designed for those who wish to work in a general management position within a company involved in international business, or for those who can bring such expertise to public bodies such as government. There is a wide range of positions with internationally oriented companies as well as in the public and private sector. Graduates find themselves in high demand by firms trading overseas and global corporations operating within the region. Recent graduates have found jobs as marketing executives, research analysts, accounts officers, industry equity analysts, international finance specialists, customer service personnel and numerous other management positions in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda etc. Graduates have found jobs in: BAT in export division, Barclays Bank, DFCU in accounts sections, relationship managers, or in the international trade finance sections. Inter freight companies Telecommunications sector: MTN, Uganda telecom, Celtel Umeme The starting monthly salary range is sh1m and above, depending on the company.
