EDITOR—Like the man who claims to be his cousin in Kenya, Raila Odinga, Barack Obama will lose the US presidential election. Obama is not doing well with hispanic voters, a traditional Democratic constituency.
Some white voters will simply not vote for a black man. Over the last few weeks, Obama has received more scrutiny and does not seem to be as fresh and idealistic as he was at the beginning of the campaign.
His pastor’s comments on America and race, his association with a corrupt property developer and his comments on rural Americans being bitter have all made him vulnerable.
Lastly, Obama is really a liberal Democrat in the mould of Michael Dukakis and John Kerry not the unifier he claims to be.
This, coupled with the attacks the Republicans will bring against him in a more ruthless manner than the Clinton campaign, will undermine him in key states like Ohio, Florida, Michigan, Missouri and Pennsylvania.
