KAMPALA Pentecostal Church (KPC) income has risen from sh16b in 2006 to over sh26b last year, which translates into a 63% increase.
The Church, which with it’s sister companies Power FM, Kampala Playhouse Limited (KPL) and Watoto Child Ministries forms the Kampala Pentecostal Church (KPC) Group of Companies, generated most of its revenue from tithes and offerings.
Presenting the financial accounts for the year 2007 at KPC Central on Friday, Jackie Kobusingye, a deaconess said the church had realised sh1.5b from other incomes including donations.
The increase in tithes and offerings was due to the rise in the average attendance that shot up from 13,131 in 2006 to 18,363 last year.
KPC has worship centres in different parts of the city, with it’s main centre located on Bombo Road. It also has a centre in Gulu, northern Uganda.
One of the church’s lead pastors, Chris Komagum, said the financial report was intended to ensure accountability. The group is number 438 among the top 1000 tax payers in the country.
“We want to develop trust by making a difference. Money is a driving force and we want to demonstrate to the world what we are doing,†Komagum said.
