AFRICA Cricket Club (ACC) were not exactly top notch but still managed to secure a comfortable win over the returning-to-action Premier.

Premier showed no signings of the team they once were as their batting attack was all out for a comical 58 with just Kumar Patel (25 runs) in double figures.

ACC’s response was slightly shaky as they lost five cheap wickets but Arthur Kyobe (18), captain Junior Kwebiiha (14) and Davis Turinawe (12 n/o) safely put the 2007 league champions into the next round of the knockout tournament.

Meanwhile, Kutchimadu shocked giants Nile CC after overcoming an early scare to reach their target with four wickets to spare.

Roger Mukasa’s 59 and David Musoke’s 41 batting favours were not returned by fellow batsmen leaving Nile’s order at a vulnerable total of 144.

The chasers seemed in trouble at 53/4 but Alpesh Hirani’s unbeaten 56 helped show Nile the exit with 10 overs to go.

Also, Castle Development’s total of 170 proved too much for Patidar in the lakeside encounter.

That Patidar’s combined response was 28 eight runs short of CDT’s Jigar Patel’s 78 says it all.

Jinja-based Rounders reached their target of 138 with seven wickets to spare and ejected Kampala Institute CC from the pre-season cup.
