Akon’s club activations ended on a high note on Saturday night at Punchline in Kabalagala where several fans won prizes, including tickets to the Senegalese-American R&B singer’s show on Friday at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

The singer will perform alongside Nigerian R&B sensations P-Square. Punchline, a favourite hangout for Kampala International University students, rocked with excitement as the G-Force dance group entertained revellers with their scintillating dance routines.

Celtel Uganda, the main sponsors of the show, have for a month, been raising awareness in nightclubs about the show through activations by dance groups. G-Force clinched a sh5m deal, after Supreme and Stingerz dance group’s sh10m activation deal ended.

Meanwhile, being the ultimate activation party for Akon’s show, it had to be mega. And it truly turned out so at Steak Out last Saturday.

Unlike other activation parties where Akon’s music had been exclusively played for one hour, at Steak Out, it was exclusively Akon from 9:00pm till past midnight.

At the activations, revellers were treated to a medley of Akon’s solo songs and collaborations done to electrifying dance steps in addition to winning caps, airtime, T-shirts and Akon’s show tickets.
