HOLDERS St. Mary’s Kitende edged TOPA 1-0 to storm to the semi-finals of the COPA Coca-Cola National Schools Championships yesterday.
The three-time soccer champions needed a Mike Mutyaba penalty to stop the fairy-tale run of the eastern region giants Tororo Progressive Academy (TOPA) in the quarterfinal.
Kitende’s striking array led by Bunamwaya FC’s Mike Mutyaba Chrizestom Ntambi (SC Villa) tormented but failed the crack TOPA’s fluid defence until Isaac Sserunyigo handled the ball in the 39th minute.
