GENERATION of Reciprocal, a local firm, has opened offices in Brussels, Belgium.
Peter Kisitu, the chief executive officer, said recently that the office would help Ugandans who want to export organic products the vast European Union market.

Kisitu said his company had already opened up links there to market agricultural products from Uganda.
“European Union has major markets for most organic products from Uganda.

This market will boost the lives of our people who do farming as a source of income. “This will be one way to create jobs,” he said.

He was speaking during a tour of pineapple farms in Luwero district.
“We appreciate the type of farming that has enabled your community to have a better living.

There is ready market for all your products since the country already has an ISO certificate in the European standard market,” Kisitu told the farmers.
James Ayine, the Sulma Foods Limited farm manager, said they process pineapples for sale in local supermarkets.

He said this was due to the difficulty in accessing the export market. “We utilise local manure. This has helped over 200 farmers have better yields,” he added.
